Tips to Remember When Moving Into a New Apartment in Dallas

Don’t get yourself in a bind- Here are some things to keep in mind before signing a lease to a new apartment in Dallas!

Tips To Moving Into A New Apartment• Will your furniture fit in the new living space? Unless you plan to start all over with a new design concept and new furniture. It would be a good idea to measure the dimensions of your furniture before you decide on a specific floorplan. The last thing you want to do is arrive at your new place on moving day just to find out that none of your furniture will work in there.

• Do they allow pets? They say “dogs are a man’s best friend”, but you would be surprised to see how many places find it easy to turn away your furry friends. Avoid having to put your dog up for adoption or sending them to live with a friend. Get informed and make sure the place you are consider allows pets. If you have a large canine you also want to make sure to read the fine print to ensure that they do not have weight or size limitations. If you have already signed a lease with a place that does not allow pets, you may want to consider all your options before you consider sneaking in your pet. Landlord can be quick to find out, and could result in some steep fines!

• Do they have a fitness center? This is a great way for you to save money and time! Most apartment complexes that have a fitness center give tenants access to the fitness center 24 hours a day at no extra cost. This will not only save you money on a monthly gym membership, but you will also be saving money by not having to spend on gas to travel to an off location fitness center. Since the gym is located at the apartment complex you can save time by simply walking there rather than having to drive somewhere else.

• Are a washer and dryer provided inside the unit? It can be a major convenience to have a washer in dryer in your unit. As it is, most people dread the idea of having to laundry, but it can be even more of a burden if you have to drive to a laundry mat or use a communal laundry center provided by the apartment complex. Plus you don’t want to leave your washer and dryer unattended when using a public laundry mat.
• Location, Location, Location! Make a list of all the places that are important to you and identify how far the drive would be from said location. Consider how long the commute would be to places you frequent such as work or school. If moving to that location will add an exuberant amount of time to your commute you may want to rethink the relocation. Avoid additional stress in your life. You don’t want to be that angry driver stuck in traffic because you decided to move somewhere much farther than you would like.
